The Collector's Room: Work from Private Collections of Hawke's Bay | Holt Gallery

Curated by Roy Dunningham and Bronwyn Thorp, this exhibition delves into some of the private collections in Hawke's Bay, to bring us diverse, dynamic works from New Zealand artists. Acquiring works as they were produced, without the benefit of hindsight, these treasured pieces mix with personal stories as the collector becomes an integral part of the the arts ecology.
Artists featuring in The Collector’s Room are Ralph Hotere, Colin MacCahon, Liz Maw, Neil Dawson, Shane Cotton, Diggeress Te Kanawa, Gretchen Albrecht, Dick Frizzell, Allen Maddox, Philip Clairmont, Conrad, Bill Henson, James Robinson, Euan McLeod, Major General Horatio Robley, Colonel Robert Henry Wynyard, Keith Patterson, Wellesley Binding, Phillip Trusttum, Yvonne Rust, Martin Poppelwell, Geoffrey Fuller, Ans Westra, Joanna Braithwaite, Bill Hammond, Richard McWhannell and Tony Fomison.
