The Gallery is closed on April 25 (Anzac Day), October 25 (Hawke’s Bay Anniversary), October 28 (Labour Day), November 7-10, December 25 (Christmas Day) & 26 (Boxing Day) , and January 1 (New Year’s Day) & 2 (Day after New Year’s Day). Early close, at 3pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Hastings City Art Gallery provides arts experiences to the regional community; responds to the ever-developing local, national and global arts scenes; collaborates with other artistic institutions; provides opportunities through outreach and online programmes; and seeks a firmer partnership with mana whenua.
